To mark 200 years of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, ARUBA supported main contractor Lima Studio with the artwork for the full exhibition space at RNLI 200: The Exhibition, telling the story of a charity that has saved over 146,000 lives since its founding in 1824.

At the heart of the space stands the centrepiece – an RNLI D Class Inshore Lifeboat, the manoeuvrable workhorse that has been part of the RNLI fleet for over 60 years. Around it, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through two centuries of the RNLI’s history, from oar-powered boats to today’s cutting-edge rescue technology. Visitors can discover dramatic tales of rescue and heroism, the extraordinary bravery of the volunteer crews who risk their lives at sea, and how today’s volunteers continue to shape the organisation. The exhibition also explores the RNLI’s long and inventive history of fundraising, and the countless supporters who have helped keep its lifeboats launching for two centuries. There’s even the chance to try on genuine RNLI lifesaving kit and get a feel for the gear worn by crew members out on the water.

It was a privilege to help tell such a powerful story of courage and community. Thank you to Lima Studio for bringing us “onboard”.
