Aruba Creative was appointed to design and artwork every element within the space for All Aboard!, an immersive Locomotion 1 themed temporary exhibition at Preston Park. Working alongside main contractor Unusual Projects, we brought the story of one of the world’s earliest steam locomotives to life for a new generation of visitors.
Our role covered the full design and artwork development for the exhibition space — translating the heritage and excitement of Locomotion 1 into graphics, interpretation and immersive environmental elements that worked together as a single, cohesive visitor experience. Collaborating closely with Unusual Projects throughout, we ensured every design element was production-ready and delivered to the standard the space demanded.
The result was an exhibition that captured imaginations across all ages — children and adults alike were drawn into the story of the train and the era it represents. We were delighted to be invited to the opening evening, where guests were visibly impressed by the exhibition and the star of the show itself.
All Aboard! was a wonderful project to be part of, and a great example of the immersive, story-led design work Aruba Creative loves to deliver in the museum and heritage sector.
